Terms of service
These terms apply when you use Headband: when you sign in, create an organization or a project, or call the API, the CLI or the MCP server.
Who you are agreeing with
Headband is operated by ZVN DEV LLC (“we” and “us” in these terms). By signing in or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use Headband for a company, you agree for that company. If you do not agree, do not use Headband.
The service
Headband gives you one API across several search engines, on engines we host or on engines you bring. It includes the dashboard, the API, the CLI, the client libraries and the MCP server. We may add, change or remove features over time.
Your account and keys
You are responsible for your account, your organization, and everything done with your API keys, including by agents and apps you give a key to. Keep admin keys on your servers. Only search keys belong in a browser. If a key leaks, delete it in the dashboard and create a new one.
Acceptable use
Do not use Headband to:
- Break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including privacy and intellectual property.
- Store or serve malware, or content you have no right to hold.
- Get around authorization, reach another customer's data, or probe or attack our infrastructure.
- Disrupt the service, including with excessive load or by working around rate limits or plan limits.
- Send spam, host phishing, or deceive people.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules, without notice when that is needed to protect the service or other customers.
Your content
You keep ownership of the documents and other content you send to Headband. You give us the limited rights needed to host, index, search, back up and transmit it to run the service for you. You must have the rights needed to send it. We do not use your content to train AI models. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.
Headband is a search index, not your system of record. Keep your source data, so you can rebuild an index from it.
Engines you bring
When you connect your own search engine, that provider's terms apply to what it receives. You are responsible for your account with it and for its costs.
Plans and billing
Plans, prices and limits are on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Prices are beta pricing and may change, always with 30 days' notice by email. If a payment fails, we may limit or suspend the paid parts of the service until it is paid.
Availability
Headband is in beta, and some features are in early access. Features may change or be interrupted, and we do not offer an uptime commitment today.
Ending your use
You can stop using Headband at any time. Delete your indexes, engines and projects in the dashboard, and email support@headband.dev to delete your account. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or do not pay, or if we stop offering the service. What deletion removes, and when, is in the privacy policy.
Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is”, without implied warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Headband during the twelve months before a claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes go to the state and federal courts located in Rhode Island.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we update the date at the top of this page. For a significant change, we also tell account owners by email. Using Headband after a change means you accept the new terms.
